VPN Client Setup Guide (Android & Firestick) – Choice1 Knowledge Base
This guide explains how to set up the VPNResellers VPN client to protect your Choice1 IPTV connection from ISP throttling and ensure secure, stable streaming. These steps apply to both Android TV boxes and Firestick devices.
Step-by-Step VPN Setup Instructions
1. Launch the VPN Client App
Open the VPNResellers app on your device.
2. Enter Login Credentials
You will need the VPN username and password provided in your client area under your VPN service details.
-
Username:
{$service_custom_fields.0} -
Password:
{$service_password}
Once entered, click Update to apply your credentials.
3. Select a Port
From the settings menu, choose 8080 TCP as your primary port (recommended for best IPTV compatibility).
If that doesn't work well with your internet provider, try one of these alternative ports:
TCP Ports (Recommended for IPTV)
-
8080 TCP
-
1289 TCP
-
1239 TCP
-
1194 TCP
-
3389 TCP
UDP Ports (Only if TCP is blocked)
-
1194 UDP
-
1289 UDP
-
443 UDP
-
123 UDP
-
88 UDP
Note: Avoid ports like 20, 21, 23, 25, 110, and 143. These are legacy ports not optimized for IPTV performance.
4. Close the Settings Menu
Click the X in the top-left corner to exit the settings screen.
5. Choose a Server Location
Select a server that is geographically closest to your actual location (for example, "Toronto #1" for users in Ontario). This helps improve speed and stability.
6. Connect to the VPN
Click the Switch On button on the main screen to connect.
Once the VPN is connected, your IP is now secured, and you are protected from ISP throttling and regional blocks.
Tips for Best Performance
-
Always use TCP ports unless they are blocked or unstable.
-
Avoid switching servers too frequently during a session.
-
Restart your device after switching ports or servers for clean connectivity.
-
Ensure TiviMate or other IPTV apps are not set to bypass VPN.
